Milparinka is a small settlement in north-west New South Wales, Australia about 250 kilometres north of Broken Hill on the Silver City Highway. At the time of the 2016 census, Milparinka had a population of 77 people.. Milparinka is on Evelyn Creek.Summer temperatures can reach 50°C.

I must say, whenever I spend time with my son, it’s a great experience. We are so much alike, considering the large gap in our ages.
Early in July 2018 we spent a couple of days exploring the dirt tracks north of Broken Hill.

I’m sure we will do another trip together but not to the “Corner Country”. I think at last I can tick that area off my bucket list.

Silver City Highway - North of Broken Hill

On this trip I was driving a Hyundai Tucson, which I had purchased the year before. It’s an AWD vehicle with better clearance then the sedans I had always driven in the past. I also hoped that the tracks north of Broken Hill would be a good place to christen the car on outback roads.
The day I planned to hit the dirt tracks I was greeted with pools of water gathering in the motel car park , I knew it would now be impossible to travel the Wilangee Road. Instead I headed to Tibooburra.
