Warragamba Dam, a concrete gravity dam, creates Lake Burragorang, the primary reservoir for water supply for the Australian city of Sydney, New South Wales. The dam impounds the Coxs, Kowmung, Nattai, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly, and Warragamba rivers, within the Hawkesbury-Nepean catchment; and the dam wall is located approximately 65 kilometres to the southwest of Sydney central business district, near the town of Wallacia. Constructed between 1948 and 1960, the dam created capacity for a reservoir of 2,031 gigalitres and is fed by a catchment area of 9,051 square kilometres . The Jenolan Caves are limestone caves located within the Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve in the Central Tablelands region, west of the Blue Mountains, in New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The caves and 3,083-hectare reserve are situated approximately 175 kilometres west of Sydney, 20 kilometres east of Oberon and 30 kilometres west of Katoomba. The caves are the most visited of several similar groups in the limestone caves of the country, and the most ancient discovered open caves in the world. They include numerous Silurian marine fossils and the calcite formations, sometimes pure white, are noted for their beauty. On Sunday March 4th 2012, I visited three of Sydney's dams on the same day. After weeks of rain, and the last few days being particularly heavy it was forecast that all of the
dams would be over flowing. Warragamba Dam got a lot of attention when it spilled over on Friday night. But what about Cordeaux, Cataract and Woronora? Three dams two different
levels. Both Cordeaux and Cataract where at about 0.1 metres above capacity and spilling over. Woronora was at 4.7 metres under capacity! What's going on? Answers may be found here

Pykes Creek Reservoir - Melbourne Victoria

Driving to Pykes Creek Reservoir - Melbourne Victoria on 21.5.2018
It was a very windy ,cold and rainy Day but I decided to go for a drive after work. It was quiet a challenge to get to this place driving from Bacchus Marsh because the weather was bad and i didnt even follow any navigation or maps .
I kind of knew its somewhere there. Finally arrived and I was impressed with its size but believe its little short of water being depleted by recent droghts in Victoria.

Pykes Creek Reservoir is also a great place for boating,fishing & kayaking and next time i will film more in better weather.

Pykes Creek Reservoir ( Pykes Creek Dam )- Melbourne Victoria is situated about 70 km from Melbourne city center and Ballan is not far from there. Little town of Myrniong also is very nice and I hope to drop in the Plough Restaurant.
