Yass is a town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Yass Valley Council. The name appears to have been derived from an Aboriginal word, Yarrh , said to mean 'running water'.Yass is located 280 km south-west of Sydney, on the Hume Highway. Cooma Cottage is a heritage-listed former farm and tuberculosis sanatorium and now house museum and historic site at Yass Valley Way, Yass, Yass Valley Shire, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1830 to 1837 by Cornelius and Rebecca O'Brien. It is also known as Hamilton Hume's House; Humedale Stud; New Nordrach Institute for Consumption. The property is owned by the National Trust of Australia . It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 1 March 2002.It is one of the oldest surviving rural houses in Yass, New South Wales. It has historic significance as a relatively intact complex of rural buildings. Daylight XPT Melbourne to Sydney

(Best watched in 1080p HD) Based on the British HST hauling Budd passenger trailers, the Australian built XPTs entered service on NSW country services in 1982. In 1993, they replaced locomotive hauled services between Sydney and Melbourne. In September 2018, we had the opportunity to ride the Northbound Daylight, the 0830 Melbourne to Sydney XPT. The train takes eleven and a half hours to cover the 960km (600 miles) between the two state capitals. This epic journey takes in sprawling city suburbs and sleepy country towns. Crossing the Great Dividing Range twice, we see the rugged moors of the Southern Highlands and acres of agricultural land, where brightly coloured canola fields (rapeseed oil) abound. The train makes 17 intermediate stops, including the original break-of-gauge station at Aldbury where, until 1962, we would have had to change train from the Victorian broad gauge to a standard gauge NSW service. The sleepy station at Yass Junction holds an unexpected secret. Each day, a bus connects with the Daylight XPT to carry passengers onward to Canberra, the Capital City of Australia. It's quicker to take the 1 hour bus journey than to carry on to Goulburn and catch a Southbound train along the Canberra branch.

Australia Road Trip: Brisbane to Melbourne

Actually Noosa, QLD to Frankston, VIC.
Done over 3 days at the start of October 2018.
At 4x speed.
Route: Noosaville to Eumundi then following the Bruce Hwy/Pacific Mwy to the Gold Coast. Continuing down the Pacific Hwy/Mwy to Forster for the first stop. Down into Sydney and across the Harbour Bridge. Down towards Wollongong and over Sea Cliff Bridge before heading inland to join the Hume Hwy/Fwy to get to Yass for the 2nd stop. From Yass we went a little inland to break up the highway driving a bit, but rejoined the Hume at Albury and continued into Melbourne. We took the Western Ring road to go over the Bolte bridge and then followed the coast down to Frankston via Beach Rd/Nepean Hwy.

A look around the country town of Griffith, located in the Riverina Region of New South Wales.

Griffith is a major regional city in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area that is located in the north-western part of the Riverina region of New South Wales, known commonly as the food bowl of Australia. It is also the seat of the City of Griffith local government area. Like the Australian capital, Canberra, and the nearby town of Leeton, Griffith was designed by Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin.Griffith was named after Arthur Hill Griffith, the first New South Wales minister of Public Works. Griffith was proclaimed a city in 1987, and had a population of 19,540 in 2015.

It can be accessed by road from Sydney and Canberra via the Hume Highway and the Burley Griffin Way and from Melbourne, Victoria, via the Newell Highway and either by using the Kidman Way or the Irrigation Way and other places like Adelaide, Orange, New South Wales, and Bathurst through the Mid-Western Highway through the Rankins Springs road from Rankins springs and the Kidman Way from Goolgowi.
