The 154,328-hectare park is situated 85 kilometres northwest of the Sydney central business district, 40 kilometres south of Cessnock, 40 kilometres north of Wisemans Ferry, and 155 kilometres southwest of Newcastle.The Yengo National Park is one of the eight protected areas that, in 2000, was inscribed to form part of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Greater Blue Mountains Area.
